So it wasn't a core course and it wasn't an elective, strictly speaking, which meant it fell outside his deal with his father about attendance and grades and expectations.
And yet, here he was. Thornton Baines had shown up early and eager. Mythology had been one of those areas where the young Ravenclaw had taken special interest as a young child and he was curious to see how it overlapped with modern magics.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," he said, nodding at the admittedly odd looking man who was going to be their instructor. Perhaps he would not write home about this experience... no need to give father any more reason to dislike the school...
Slipping into a seat, Thornton folding his hands neatly on the desk and waited for others to arrive.
