Ears burning an obvious shade of red, the astronomer slowly closed the door to his office and turned around to face the two first years. It had not yet registered that there was ask all over his hands and suit - or else there may have been more wailing and even tears - as he cleared his throat and tried not to look to embarrassed.
Maybe they hadn't even heard ...all that.
But then Miss Hanover's words made that shade of red spread from his ears to his cheeks. It seemed the sort of stunt Medea would pull...or perhaps even Maddox. However, he also knew Maddox would not really want to take the time out of his daily schedule to do that sort of thing unless provoked to do so - and as far as he knew he hadn't done anything yet - and the voice was certainly not Medea's.
Although it was...familiar...hmmmm...
Clearing his throat again, Airey loosened his tie and finally spoke - in a high pitch voice that broke here and there; quite reminiscent of a boy going through puberty, actually.
"Ahem, yes...well...yes," he said, loosening his tie even further. "...eeeeeeeeer...what is it that I...er....can do for you two?"
Smiling softly at the obviously uncomfortable Professor Marsha pulled the conversation away from the Howler… quickly.
”Well, Professor… We were wanting to adopt rocks.” She was sure she had said that already, but the man was obviously in shock. So she would let him off hehehe. After all, he was one of her favourite teachers.
”We missed the fayre at the start of term and we wanted to see if there were any left to adopt?”
Yup, she pointed between herself and Lance. They were the we, yup. He and her.
