He leaned back in his chair. Sure, they needed a new seeker, but he needed to be strategic about it or else they'd have a repeat of last season. He wasn't just about to pick up the first seeker that came along. He tilted his head as he considered her words. That was a rather strong opinion of the Ministry and he wondered just what made her think that way. "I've never had a problem with either of them," he shrugged. And he had worked with them longer than she had, he was fairly certain. "They seem to be efficient as far as Ministry workers go." He thought that Mariel had actually played pro for a while, but he couldn't imagine working in the Ministry after his retirement instead of what he was doing.

He nodded as he listened to her explanation for shaking up her team a little. It might not have been his exact approach but Kieran could see where it would make sense. "I'll keep that in mind," he smirked as she boasted about her strategy. He was making quite a few changes this season so he'd have to see how that would work out first. "Whatever you say, Rebecca," he replied somewhat amused as she needed to have the last word on Muirgen. Kieran really felt like she was making too much of what she thought was going on, but Quidditch was business for him just as it was for her.

Right.. he knew she wasn't going to make this trade that easy for him, but he didn't have a whole lot of choice in the matter. He took a long sip of his wine as he mulled over her question. "Well, it's no secret that we had one of the worst season's the Kestrels have seen in a few years." And his seeker's poor performance really contributed to that. In fact, he had really been on the decline the past couple years, it just really showed this past year. She was right about the reserves, he knew that, but was more curious on what she was planning. Though he also figured she wouldn't be so easily forthcoming with that information either. He could easily find a reserve seeker, maybe from the local university even. "Fair enough," he shrugged. She didn't have to tell him. "I can let both of my seekers go for your starter." That was the deal, right?

Not desperate? She eyed the wording he used, she would never be desperate ether but she would make a point to her team to straighten up or they would be gone. There was plenty of talent being wasted on these other teams, she just needed to get her claws into them and she knew she’d have a perfect team. Now Kieran on the other hand, ha, she assumed he might have a decent one, but figured he didn’t have the nerve to pull off an exceptional one like she could. Her lips tightened as he seemed to defend the ministry a bit, stupid man. She knew better and she had the experience with Victoria to know her pathetic ways. “Believe me Kieran I know what I’m talking about. I’ve dealt with Victoria Culloden a lot longer than any of you would know. It’s just lucky she fell on her face in that ministry election. We would have been in horrible trouble if she would have become the minister.” She would have moved back to Australia for sure if that happened.

Whatever she said, whatever she said, HA! The man best listen to her, she knew what she was doing. Sipping her wine and seeing her food come, she placed her napkin on her lap. “I’d like to revamp our contract wording and I have you to thank really.” He was great inspiration and well that little romance that seemed to have come up between her captain and the Cannon’s player. She took a bit of her meal and chewed before sipping her wine once again.

Sitting back in her seat she nodded in agreement about his horrible season, “It really has, but I don’t feel it was anything against your management.” Coaching, yes, but she hoped he got rid of that issue along with some players. Her grin growing when she had what she had come for, “Then it’s a deal, I can owl the paper work in the morning.” Now that business was out of the way, she could enjoy the meal and her company, he might be just a manager but she could at least enjoy the view while eating.
