No she liked that about him, he had always seemed as a player ready to jump at what he needed to win, so she assumed the same as a manager. “Well if you ask me they need to find new ministry employees. The ones they have need their bottoms fired and thrown out. It’s obvious that Mariel what’s her name doesn’t know how to pick people to work under her, Victoria is the worst manager I have ever dealt with. Maybe if she’d stop popping out kids she could focus on her job.” The woman had yet another one, which was just disgusting to Rebecca. Wasn’t he idiot boy enough? She must have been trying to find a perfect one, but after so many she should just give up. She shrugged at his Hogwarts comment, the school was as ridiculous as the ministry. She didn’t know how the people of Britain really every handled it. “The seeker doesn’t work for us, neither did the little ‘girl’ group my team was starting to have. It needed a mix up before they get too comfortable. Comfort makes them lazy, they just assume they know each other and then start making mistakes.” She never dealt with comfort. It was better to keep on your toes. “Maybe you should adopt my approach and next season you could have a stronger team too.” Her arrogant smirk never leaving her face, yes they did have a good season, but they were not number one. She wouldn’t quit until she was. “See it how you want, but Tupper will be watched.” She could have her way to make sure a player that ever crossed her would not be able to find someone to sign them after she released them from the team. She certainly had her ways.
She waited for him to order sipping her wine and then she watched him as he thought over her words. “How badly do you want a change?” She knew she had the upper hand in this, she had the better record and better seeker, but she also knew with her specific coaches and training she could mold them both into what she wanted. “Reserves are a dime a dozen, you could easily find one I’m sure.” She waved her hand dismissively. “What I do with my team is my business, you will just have to wait and see.” Truth be told she was over the reserve seeker already and the contract was soon to be up. Kieran smirked lightly before taking a sip of wine. "A few," he confirmed. "We may have had a less than ideal season, but I'm not desperate. Not everyone has what I'm looking for." He leaned back in his chair. Sure, they needed a new seeker, but he needed to be strategic about it or else they'd have a repeat of last season. He wasn't just about to pick up the first seeker that came along. He tilted his head as he considered her words. That was a rather strong opinion of the Ministry and he wondered just what made her think that way. "I've never had a problem with either of them," he shrugged. And he had worked with them longer than she had, he was fairly certain. "They seem to be efficient as far as Ministry workers go." He thought that Mariel had actually played pro for a while, but he couldn't imagine working in the Ministry after his retirement instead of what he was doing.
He nodded as he listened to her explanation for shaking up her team a little. It might not have been his exact approach but Kieran could see where it would make sense. "I'll keep that in mind," he smirked as she boasted about her strategy. He was making quite a few changes this season so he'd have to see how that would work out first. "Whatever you say, Rebecca," he replied somewhat amused as she needed to have the last word on Muirgen. Kieran really felt like she was making too much of what she thought was going on, but Quidditch was business for him just as it was for her.
Right.. he knew she wasn't going to make this trade that easy for him, but he didn't have a whole lot of choice in the matter. He took a long sip of his wine as he mulled over her question. "Well, it's no secret that we had one of the worst season's the Kestrels have seen in a few years." And his seeker's poor performance really contributed to that. In fact, he had really been on the decline the past couple years, it just really showed this past year. She was right about the reserves, he knew that, but was more curious on what she was planning. Though he also figured she wouldn't be so easily forthcoming with that information either. He could easily find a reserve seeker, maybe from the local university even. "Fair enough," he shrugged. She didn't have to tell him. "I can let both of my seekers go for your starter." That was the deal, right?
