| post 2 Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Things had gone relatively easily for a while after she’d gotten past the darkness, but then Brooklyn wasn’t about to relax yet. There were still at least two other challenges to get past, if Professor Dakest had been telling the truth. Not to mention, everyone else who had entered the maze. She could hear noises up ahead, but ignored them for the most part, continuing to go by her tactic of keeping her hand on the wall. At least, she could do that when there weren’t trees or bushes she had to loop around, along with the unexpected pool of water on the ground that reminded her of last term and the swamp invading. She didn’t have anyone to climb on for safety this time, but the puddle was easy enough to get around. At least she didn’t need a raft this time. There wasn’t anything in the corridor she could use to make one anyhow.
She’d kept walking forward, turning right where she could and left if there was no other direction to go. In all honesty, she was starting to get bored with it all, until she felt a faint cold seeping into her from up ahead. Not weather cold either, and she stopped for a moment to remind herself that there wasn’t any reason to be afraid. Nothing in her was real, and she could probably just knock the ‘dementor’ she assumed was up ahead over had she wanted to. Yet she hadn’t actually seen it yet. Maybe it was the pretend lethifold, but she didn’t think those messed with emotions.
Finally stepping forward again, she kept her wand pointed ahead of her until she saw the hooded figure. I’m not backing down, she thought, keeping that sentence in her head even as she went back to happy thoughts. Focusing on the first time she’d put on her ballet shoes, knowing it was something that her sister couldn’t do… “Expecto Patronum!” Her wand traced the now familiar circle, and she nearly smirked as a brighter bluish mist burst from the tip. She was getting better at it. All she had to do was find the right memory, but until then, back to following the maze hopefully til the end.
