Flag and other supplies in hand, Lux slowly made the trek down to the lake so that she could start on her Astronomy homework. It was a good thing that she had both eaten breakfast beforehand, and worn rain boots because it would suck if she got either hungry or wet. Unfortunately she didn't have shorts on, however, as her legs would have gotten too cold in the chilly autumn weather.

Reaching the shoreline, the redhead paused both in order to roll up her pant legs and to figure out where she wanted to place her flag. It was probably a good idea to position it in the water because tides increased and decreased. Wading a little past the shore, she stopped when she was a few feet from dry ground. This was as good a place as any for her to stick the flag.

Smiling, she set it firmly into the ground, driving it in a good three inches. This way it wouldn't easily be knocked over. Pleased with her work, she took a black marker out of her bag and wrote 'LUX CARRINGTON' in big letters so that no one could confuse her flag with theirs. That sorted, there was only one thing left to do and that was to record the tide level. Even though there wasn't much going on right now, it was still important to record the information and why not start now.

With a ruler, she measured up to where the water ended and recorded the information into her notes:

Okay, now she just needed to come back later at a very particular time and do another measurement. Lux wasn't sure why it really mattered, but shrugged it off and headed back to the castle.
