True. Which was why whatever the new professor saw in his appearance couldn't entirely be taken at full face value. Benny nodded as his name was guessed without full proper introduction, the sixth year wondering how he did it. Or any staffer for that matter. So many names to keep straight which was why nametags usually helped in the classes early in the term.
He listened as Kace finally spoke up, answering Dakest's question towards them both. The Hufflepuff appeared to have been luckier than him in his DADA OWL. Ben himself was pretty sure he wasn't heading in the direction of the other boy's career options. But he still wanted to improve in the area. Yet even still, he listened intently to what the auror-turned-educator had to say. And what Kace said in return.
Mention of the Magical Creatures department of the Ministry got the Gryffindor to perk up. "Yeah...last year Professor Thompson mentioned DADA as something to pay attention to for my own plan with dragons and creatures ," he mused finally speaking again. And it seemed Kace had an interest there as well. He was certainly paying attention to the conversation now even if the information given hadn't been the original intention of the visit. He still needed to perhaps improve his DADA skills if his scores had been anything to follow.
