9 am. Leah walked down to the Black Lake, yaaawning. This was WAY too early for her, but she would not be able to get her Astronomy Homework completed if she was late. She rubbed her eyes with one hand as she pulled her robes closer with the other. Merlin it was COLD. And it was only October.
She placed her log parchment and the Muggle ruler and bright orange flag she picked up outside Professor Flamsteed's office EVEN earlier this morning onto the ground next to her. The Hufflepuff's name was already written on the flag so that nobody else could take it. So, where was she supposed to stick it in?
Probably someplace where measurements could be easily done. That meant going deeper into the water. Leah was not very happy about that idea, but she did it anyway. She walked in, every step becoming heavier and heavier. Using her Muggle ruler, she measured exactly one foot from the shore where she began and stuck her flag in, pushing it some more to make sure that it was extra stable.
Then she did some measurements. This Muggle ruler thing was amazing, by the way.
As soon as she was out of the water, Leah used the Hot-Air Charm to dry herself. She had to be back approximately 6 hours and 12.5 minutes later. With a glance at her watch, she packed her things up and made her way up to the castle.
