Actually, he wanted to understand it's actual existence, and had taken up reading through textbooks to get the answer he wanted. The pile sat at his feet, glad that he had just mastered the spell to levitate his books ahead of him... because this pile was heavy and he wasn't the tallest.

His mother was only a small person.

He put a book back on the shelf after flicking through it and considering it useless and tried to reach a book on a taller shelf.

....... By climbing on the pile he already had.

It was okay though. He had pretty good balance. For now.
