There was a kind of divination about stomach sounds? Fascinating. Apparently there were branches of divination for everything. However, she wasn't sure what this particular form of divination was called. Many other students seemed to agree that it was called gastromancy. Gastromancy would be a logical name for it because gastro meant that it had something to do with the stomach. So it probably was gastromancy. "Gastromancy, because gastro means relating to the stomach."
What was that second part of the question? Use it on somebody who has already passed on? "They used it on dead people?" Eeew. Why would anyone do that? And how could they hear dead people's stomach sounds if the people had been buried in the cemetery or had been dead for so long that they didn't have stomachs producing stomach noises? They weren't going to have to do that, right? Just on living people with the food that they were eating. Penelope turned her attention back to her food. She sipped her soda and nibbled on the food as she listened to what other people were saying. So, how could stomach sounds be used for divination? She was slightly skeptical that stomach sounds could tell you anything that would be useful for divination purposes.
