(Pg. 223 in the US version). The price of the Firebolt 600 in the quidditch shop is 7 Galleons and 4 sickles (which in US currency would make it $53.29 and in UK pounds £35.67. The top of the line racing bikes cost anywhere from $300 to $12,500.)
So my question is...how is a top of the line racing broom that is at the 600th version that cheap?
I don't mean to offend anyone at all...I just know how much the site prides on being as canon as possible and...the pricing of the brooms is way too low. A training broom I could see being 7 Galleons. But a Firebolt 600 and the Twigger 101 for 12 Galleons that is for people above a certain age...It doesn't make sense.
Which also means that the pricing for the Quidditch supplies and Balls...and pretty much everything is off. Because if we look at the prices on Pottermore the books are anywhere from 1 to 40 Galleons, the most expensive book being "The Official Guide to the Quidditch World Cup" priced at 39 Galleons. (They don't have Quidditch Through the Ages....idky). Also, this would make practice robes in USD $12.87 and in UK Pounds £8.41. Practice uniforms for any sport, counting pads, shoes, helmets (if needed), proper clothing, and socks, etc., can be in the $500 (+ or -) range depending on brand and sport.
Again...I really don't mean to offend anyone I just wanted to ask why the prices are so low when these things are meant to be really expensive according to canon?
I got the info on conversions here. Quote:

You are absoltly right. Snitchseeker PRIDES itself on being canon and having canon information. But what you're forgetting is that this site's RPG prides itself most not on JKR's canon - as brilliant as it is - but on SS canon, things that the members themselves have come up with to enrich our RPG world, such as the bowling alley or wizarding universities. Not everyting we do here lines up perfectly with what our HP world creater has written.
Sure those prices are lower than in the books, but remember this
is roughly 80 years after the last battle in our RPG, so it can't be expected that the prices would remain as they had been back in the 1990's. The prices we have now are ones that, prior to opening this DA forum, were looked at and discussed by the powers that had been. Should I, Brigette, or the current shopkeeper feel the need to change them, then we will. As of now we don't, but we do appreciate your concern and appreciation for JKR's canon.
