Big surprise the ministry can’t get their heads on straight to help us keep the talent going.” That idiot Victoria having yet another ankle biter, really how many children did one need?
She knew off season would be busy for him, honestly she couldn’t wait for the season. She loved the competitive off season changes, but she had so much downtime this off season for some reason. She chuckled a bit at the firing, “Well maybe you should have. If my team played like that. They’d be all gone.” She wasn’t really one for subtle, so she just said it how it was. “I don’t really like you dating my players Kieran. It doesn’t sit with me all that well, but since we beat you last year and that little paper thought it was fun to say my player was the reason I’ll let it slide, but once out of line movement she does with you involved and she won’t be playing anymore.” He’d have that one on him, could he handle it?
She watched him, trying to gage how he felt. He had invited her, she knew why she wasn’t stupid. Though she wanted rid of her seeker, she wasn’t going to just let it happen that easily. They had the better record, they had the better snitch captures. What could she do to make this go more her way. “I’m not sure it’s going to be that easy. Honestly your seeker is reserve at best after last season.” She stopped as the waiter came and ordered her dinner. Taking her time sipping her wine. “I would be willing to give you our seeker for both of yours. You haven’t used your reserve much even if you should have.” Her reserve hadn’t signed the new contract yet and well if you snooze you lose and she’d gladly take on two new ones. Her comment didn't surprise him in the slightest, in fact, Kieran pretty much counted on something along those lines. "I'd expect nothing less from you, Rebecca," he chuckled, then swirled the wine in his glass before taking another long sip. "A few.." he responded casually. She didn't need to know the details of his other negotiations, but he didn't mind the small talk as long as it stayed that way. "I did find that odd," he nodded thoughtfully as she mentioned lack of tryouts. "Maybe there was a lack of response. There were only two last year. I really think the lack of Quidditch at Hogwarts is really starting to take its toll." He wouldn't be so quick to blame the Ministry, though perhaps they could be doing more. But for the most part they seemed to at least try to be accommodating.
Kieran looked at her somewhat amused. He supposed it didn't surprise him that she'd think that way, considering that she shook up her own team on a regular basis. "I think we have different approaches to management. I do find it a little surprising that after the season you had, you're looking to make changes." Sure, it made good sense to have back up plans and keep options open but she had a strong team so it was interesting to see her changes. "I heard you got a new chaser."And what she said next was even more amusing. "That almost sounds.. threatening," he said with a smirk. "I'm not sure what you think is going on here, she's not my wife." Of course he cared a great deal about Muirgen and wouldn't want to intentionally jeopardize her career, but if she thought he was that driven by emotion, she was very mistaken. "Tupper's a fantastic beater and I'm certain you know that. If you're willing to give up that talent, I'm sure another team would be more than happy to snatch her up," he shrugged. And even if he thought it a conflict of interest to have her on his own team, he'd still sign her.
Kieran thought over her words a moment as the server showed up. Yes, Madsen had a bad season and seemed to be on the decline. He was on friendly terms with the guy, but he thought it'd be best to let him go, having one of the worst records in the league. But he'd be glad to see the guy go to a decent team rather than end his career. He ordered his dinner then waited for the server to leave before he turned his eyes back to Rebecca. "Two seekers for one, that is an interesting offer," he finally said, leaning back in his seat. "Of course that leaves me with no reserve and I'll have to scramble a bit to find one before season starts." He wouldn't admit it right away, but it still wasn't a bad deal. His reserve was fresh out of Uni with little experience. "And that gives you two on reserve? That seems like a waste.. Or what were you planning on doing with the one you had?" Still, he wasn't declining her offer, more was just curious on what her plans were.
