Might as well reply in kind, and hopefully she wasn't butchering it since High Valyrian wasn't exactly her strong suit. Anyway, she was curious now. "So you have read the books? I like them mostly because Dany and dragons!" The dragons were the best part of the series BY FAR. If anything, Lux had passed the test. Brooklyn didn’t think any random witch here at Hogwarts would know the appropriate response to what she’d said, after all. It wasn’t as if High Valyrian was a known (or honestly, a real) language, after all. Nobody would know what they were saying, although that was about it for what she knew. If only there was a way to learn more, since it would give her one more thing to hold above everyone else here. As it was, most everyone didn’t even recognize the books when she was reading them, which brought her back to the reason she hadn’t just turned and left in the first place. The book in the older girl’s lap.
“Would I have known that if I hadn’t?,” she replied. The phrase, that was. “Of course I’ve read them.” Or, at least, she’d read some of them. She hadn’t gotten very far into the series yet, since Hogwarts sort of prevented her from doing too much reading. Plus, she hadn’t gotten much done over the summer due to the field trip and everything. And the mention of dragons reminded her of that joint lesson last term, and Balerion. She still wished she could have kept the rock dragon, like she had her planet from Astronomy first year. Although Casterly Rock was still at home again.
