Stella followed a few people wearing green robes down to the dungeons. She couldn't stand another moment in that huge crowd. She'd sat at the very end of the Slytherin table and sang under her breath, but she still couldn't block out all the emotions of the other students.
The Slytherins she'd observed at the feast were all so friendly and inviting. It was a bit disappointing to be honest. She'd expected anarchy and rebellion and terror. Instead they hugged people laughed about kittens. Stella knew she would appreciate their warmness more once she slept away her headache.
The common room though-this was the Slytherin aesthetic she wanted. Black leather couches, green lamps and fire, skulls. Much better.
There were two people sitting in front of a window into the lake she'd been on earlier. They looked around Stella's age but she hadn't seen them being sorting, so probably second or maybe third years. Stella decided to soldier through her discomfort and make some friends. She walked over and sat next to her new housemates.
"Hi, I'm Stella. I'm a first year. Mind if I hang out for a bit? Are there always that many people at every meal?"
