| Reactions to Prefect things, Benzi, staring at Gabe. Sardines ♥ BHB ♥ Dallie ♥ Grumpy ♥ MY SUN AND STARS ♥ i love julia Evie was back down on her bum with half a dinner roll in her mouth. All she had said was PLEASE, which Gabe reacted to fairly maturely to and even said thank you.. Her mouth was full, though, so Evie only gave him a nod. But then EDEN jumped in and nearly bit his head off and SHUT him DOWN and Evie had to stuff the rest of her dinner roll into her mouth to keep from saying anything. Evangeline didn't really have any reason to dislike Gabe, you know, but he kinda just gave her a weird vibe sometimes. She was sure he was a nice guy somewhere in there, too, but his response was so stoic and mature and whatever; she felt like Eden was totally owning this argument.
And then Sophie took over and asked her to save hers and Eden's seat. "You got it, boss." Evie nodded at the two girls as they took off, pretty sure that Sophie would never get after Eden, so she wasn't concerned at all. Ahem, yes, back to eating and talking to Benzi. The not-new kid. Quote:

"So what's that guy's de-" he began asking Evie in a quiet voice, but then the headmistress spoke and he was rather distracted by that red hair until she sat back down again. ... What had she said? Ah well. FOOD TIME. LOOK AT ALL THIS GOOD. YES. FOOOOOOOOD. He attempted to ignore everyone as he began piling up literally everything in sight, but very quickly realised that the conversation was centered around Standing Prefect's comment to him. Might be worth listening in.
Hey, was that Evie standing up for him? GRIN. Even though he really didn't need it, but he nodded to her in gratitude anyways. Silently observing - aka mouth too full to form words - Benzi watched with an avid fascination as Standing Prefect tried to wriggle out of the situation. ....... Oh. "Oh."
That was an unexpected answer. "I'm sorry to hear that." She was also very curious why he was gone for THAT long and wanted to ask, but held back. It probably wasn't an appropriate topic for people who had just met. The theories DID swarm through her brain though. Maybe he was royalty and his family was getting killed off by assassins. Or maybe his family was CURSED and they were all slowly dying. Or not, you know, maybe it was something normal, whatever. "Were you gonna ask me something?" Evie asked in a hushed tone, leaning towards him a bit. It sounded like he was gonna ask about some dude with a badge, but that was just her guess. Quote:

So. Potatoes.
...and steak and kidney pie. It was especially tasty this year. Or perhaps that was because he was so hungry. It was common knowledge, actually, that the more hungry you were, the better food tasted once you finally got your hands on it. Or so he'd read.
Spearing a potato carefully with his fork, Gabe brought it to eye level, inspecting it...before putting it in his mouth.
Chew. Swallow. Repeat. Speaking of the Prefect...... what was he doing? Checking to make sure his potato wasn't alive? Evie stared at him while this process continued, intrigued and confused at the same time. Remember those weird vibes we mentioned? They were back. |
