In times of strife...which was what this felt like...Gabriel had to remember one of the last pieces of advice he'd received from Mr. Emerson. There were more important things in life than these types of moments at school. This wasn't what the real world was like. Small people would be small.
So, cheeks still pink, he calmly stood up and placed his hands on the table. If this had to happen....it might as well happen now.
"Eden, I respect your position...but with that said, our Head of House and the Headmistress of this school gave me this badge. Whatever differences I have with you does not affect my wanting to keep our table peaceful this term...as I've been entrusted to do. That's all." Professional and calm. Yes.
