Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

Maddox was absolutely pleased with what seemed like the outcome of his fun thus far. Sabel wasn't half bad with that sense of duty he wore plainly on his head and if he was a different person, Maddox might have even admired that but as it stood, he was still Maddox Quigley and would always prefer taking advantage of such a flaw. It was simply how things ran so he gave the faintest nod to Sabel, openly approving of the way he ran with the rock adoption.

Just down the table, he was almost sure he was hearing a whole bunch of congratulations and the like. What was the occasion? Who were they celebrating and what had he missed?

Before he could truly consider it--or ask Cosgrach since he seemed to be the one in the thick of it--Airey drew his attention to him again with the offer of a parchment. Honestly, Airey? They were rocks for Circe sake. Toss 'em out and they'll get picked up. Lazily, his eyes scanned the words but he found them widening a little more with each new sentence until his brows were all crinkled and he started to wonder if the man had really lost it this time.

Annie giving her speech saved him from any immediate response that might have been required (thankfully) but one couldn't fail to notice the way his expression fell when she announced he'd be helping out with Gryffindor. That was practically a recipe for lions finding WORK for him to do. He was no one's helper. That....that was too much commitment. Perhaps something more like 'offering to give a hand and an eye every now and then...occasionally...once in a blue moon'; that sounded decent.

"Airey's having some rock adoption." To answer Cassie's question as he began folding the parchment. "Bet you've always wanted one." Maddox faced Airey again, feigning a solemn look. "I'll look this over and give it some serious though, mate." He lied. "But food will have to come first." Because he was hungry and spinning wild tales of rocks and murder surely worked up an appetite. "I'm sure we'll have better opportunity to converse at a later point in time Sabel." If he was so inclined, Maddox could spin this story for MONTHS.
