Checking her perfect appearance in the glass, she walked into the restaurant. Giving the hostess the name she figured the reservation was under.
Had she beat him? Well now this just wouldn't do. Thinking maybe she should just leave and come back in about a half hour or so, Rebecca decided to sit and use another angle. The you made me wait angle. No one made Rebecca Maroon wait. She always got what she wanted and she would this evening just the same. She needed a new seeker and even though the team had a horrible season she knew he had what she wanted.
Her plans were set, now that she had players she actually thought could win this season. This last one would seal the deal. Kieran had a very busy off-season so far. Coming off a terrible losing season would do that, he supposed, as he needed to spend the months before the new season rebuilding his team and looking for ways to overcome their losses and defeated attitudes. He thought maybe it was more difficult managing a team that he had played on for years, feeling that maybe he couldn't make as unbiased decisions as he should. Many of the players on the team had been his friends and teammates for years. But he had to get over that if he wanted a successful team.
He had manged to secure a new chaser he had put a lot of stock into and he was hoping to trade his seeker as well. Madsen was a great guy but his performance last season had been less than ideal. And when the rest of the team had been struggling, a solid seeker was essential. Kieran found it difficult for other team managers to want to discuss trades with him however, so he was a little surprised when Rebecca Maroon agreed to meet him for dinner. He knew of her reputation though and that she nearly always had an agenda, so he'd be sure to stay on his toes.
Walking into the restaurant, Kieran glanced around as he headed towards the hostess station. He spotted Rebecca already seated and made mention to the hostess that the other half of his party was already there, so no need to seat him, he'd see to it himself. Heading over to the table, he gave the woman a friendly smile. "Mrs. Maroon, thank you for meeting with me today." He took the seat across from her. "I hope you weren't waiting long.." He didn't make it a habit of making women wait on him, but at least he hadn't been late.
