Caleb was surprised to find the Prefect's carriage crowded and hoppin with visitors when he finally got around to taking his seat. He'd lost Beans on the platform and had ALMOST had to leave without his beloved rat...but it turns out he had just been sleeping in his trunk the whole time. Tucked into a sock. Silly rat.
He first raised an eyebrow at...Sophie? Or 'Not My Sister Sophie' as he always referred to her in his brain. He glanced at her robes - yup, that was a prefect's badge on there. So no more CB huh? Interesting. He wondered what had happened...before addressing the others in the carriage, he decided to get the delicacies out of the way with her. "Hey Soph - congrats on the badge!" he said with a polite smile. He hoped she didn't mind him calling her Soph. Not that he really cared but you know. Wanting to start out on the right foot and all.
And now to the visitors. There was that Gryffindor kid, who was friends with Adi and probably there as his guest, and then Puck, and some other Gryffindor gi...

Caleb blinked and looked at the Puck who'd just entered the compartment, and the Puck who was already IN the compartment. Blink blink blink. Alright, so which Puck was the real Puck, and WHY was someone impersonating themselves at Puck? Merlin, off to a killer start already this term, eh?
Caleb knew only ONE person who was a big fan of the potion, and he really really REALLY hoped it was NOT said person because that would just be embarrassing for both of them. Embarrassing for Cutty because - Puck was a GIRL and this was just weird. And embarrassing for Caleb because of association. Obviously.
Did...did Puck not CARE or something? Because she was just handing out pizza like it was no big deal that someone was BEING HER and trying to infiltrate the Prefect's carriage for some unknown reason and that was just WEIRD. OR MAYBE THAT WASN'T THE REAL PUCK. THAT was why she was acting so nonchalant. Oh Merlin. He was so confused now.
So should he call Cutty out? Hmm. He was 99.9% sure it was his fellow snake, but didn't want to wrongly accuse someone either. Plus he still wasn't THAT sure which Puck was the real Puck. Instead, he just shook his head and plopped down on an empty seat in the compartment. "Merlin, I don't even WANT to know," he grumbled.
Yes, let the other ones handle this one. Caleb had a trying term last year - he could sit this one out.
