Anyone and everyone can work in the Greenhouses or Student Garden. They are free to use and there is always plenty of work to be completed. You do not need to sign up for a time to garden, pull weeds, or trim plants; just help yourself to the materials available.

If you wish to work extensively at a long-term project and are unsure if Hogwarts has the supplies you require, please visit the Headmistress in her office in the castle.

Greenhouses 1-3 are left unsupervised and unlocked throughout the day, although the Groundskeeper will close them at night. Greenhouses 4 and 5 are locked at all times, so please see the Headmistress to unlock them for you. The student garden is always open to visitors, and the benches make a nice place to relax, read, or sketch. Please limit your PDA to other areas of the grounds, however. The plants are overly sensitive to your mouth-sucking noises.

Finally, extra credit is sporadically awarded, unannounced, to those students who take it upon themselves to contribute to the greenhouses or student garden. The larger and more frequent your contribution, the more generous the Headmistress will be with her extra credit.
