Across the grounds and far enough away that the distance leaves its own warning stands the Forbidden Forest. Like the name suggests, this forest is off limits without permission and even then it's a risk. Towards the edges of the forest the trees are sparse but they thicken as you go further causing the forest to be a little harder to navigate through. Here, the trees grow so tall and clustered toward the top that even during the day there is very little light so if you do find yourself in here, you'll want to watch your step lest something watch you.

Inside the forest you will find it's inhabitants, most of whom are not usually happy to share the space with humans. Centaurs, hippogriffs, thestrals, unicorns and of course without a doubt acromantulas can be found inside this dark and foreboding forest.

Due to the age line placed around the outskirts by the Professors near the end of last term, the forest itself is inaccessible to students, something you can thank them for later.
