Year Five: It was a struggle adjusting to student life and classes with several others present. Usually homeschooled, one on one, Gabe found it most different being taught by female professors, due to his irrational fear of 'girls'. He kept his head down most of the term, focusing on his studies and academics. One wrinkle in the experience was that faithful potions lesson where he and Zahra Kettleburn were given the love potion together...and where it was a race against the clock to find a cure. Not hearing the instructions clearly, Gabe assumed he was meant to CREATE a potion (not formerly in existence) to cure himself...and Zahra. Going through the motions, he finally did create a potion for this purpose and Professor Culloden deemed it 'working'. He'd also collected a girlfriend this term, who was heartbroken over the snogging and 'love potion' acts between himself and Kettleburn. They worked it out, however, and all was well.
Year Six: Being made Prefect over that summer was a shock to the social recluse...as he wasn't sure how he was meant to lead anyone. His sister, Ruby, talked him into keeping the badge, however...and he began the term with a bang....or maybe, not so much. The start-of-term feast was severally blotched. After some drama caused a lone Slytherin and two of the younger Ravenclaws, Gabriel ended up silencio'ing said Slytherin...and a fight breaking out. Not caused by the silencio'ing, mind. After snatching everyone's wands, they were marched to the Headmistresses office...where Gabe (and Beverly Wayne, the female Slytherin Prefect) explained the situation. The remainder of the term was fairly quiet, save for the death of that same Slytherin student that had been such a handful from the beginning. Gabriel (with Puck Greyvson, the female Gryffindor Prefect) had been scouting locations for the term's Prefect event...where they had stumbled onto a frightful scene involving Gryffindors and the one Slytherin. Confused by the sight, they were soon joined by Professor Quigley...who bartered for their lives (not his, as he'd been hiding)...before leading them from the Forest (once again, not him, as he'd ran at the earliest possible moment). Of course, what's been seen cannot be unseen...and the violent nature of the death began plaguing Gabe with vivid nightmares.
