Rules and Expectations Classroom Rules - Be respectful of your peers, your professor, and the opinions and ideas shared in this class.
- Be on time. Unless you were carrying a first year on your back while fleeing an angry Hungarian Horntail, I don’t want to hear excuses. Tardiness will be met with loss of house points.
- Come to class prepared. That means all necessary class materials are with you and available for use, when needed.
- Wear your school uniform unless instructed to do otherwise.
- Participate. I know that I have a lovely voice and assume you lot will love listening to me talk but I enjoy the occasional break from lecturing and class discussion can be so much more fun. If you’ve got a relevant question, ask it. If you’ve got an experience related to the topic, share it. I want to hear from you, I promise.
- Use your own words and ideas. If you were in class, you should have more than enough information to formulate your own opinions on the material covered and I expect you to do so. If I wanted to hear a book quoted back to me, I’d go to an author’s night. I want to know what you and you alone know about muggle studies.
Homework - Homework is optional but encouraged and you do not have to attend the lesson in order to do the assignments
- All homework is to be PMed to me, TakemetotheBurrow
- Please title each homework assignment appropriately. For example: Muggle Studies HW #1
- Include your character’s name, house, year and member ID at the top of your PM
Your Member ID Number can be found at the end of the URL of your profile page. For example, the URL to my profile is -http://www.snitchseeker.com/members/takemetotheburrow-193889/- My member ID is 193889.
- All homework is due on the date and at the time assigned by me.
- Please don’t quote information directly from the source. If you’re going to do the homework, I’d like it to be in your own words.
OOC Things to Remember - All SS Rules and General Classroom Rules apply in all of the Muggle Studies threads.
- Remember the difference between IC and OOC. The way that Meredith acts and the things she says IC do not always reflect the way I feel or the things I think OOC. Also, please remember to stay in character while playing in the Muggle Studies threads! It’s okay for a younger student not to know things and it’s also okay for some students to have more information than others given the way they were raised, things they’ve been exposed to, etc. I promise that I’ll consider everyone’s post and give points where they’re due, whether your character is the type to be outgoing in class or not.
- If you have any questions at all, please poke me and I'll do my best to help you sort things out!
