"How long have you been playing?" Willa asked the other girl. She was curious to see how much experience these other people had because she had... very little. She could fly, yes, and she was very good at hitting things with sticks, but she had very minimal practice doing the two of them together. And chasing a ball around around the pitch just sounded boring.
Was that a forced smile? Leah knew there were people who did not like to smile much, but it always hurt more when people forced themselves to be nice, like they were trying to be sarcastic. Nevertheless, the girl was trying to be polite and that was good.
"Me too," she looked towards the end of the pitch where the hoops were at,
"but I'm really nervous at the same time."
Ugh, she had been dreading this question. It was also the main reason why the fifteen year old was anxious - she did not play Quidditch much. What if she was worse than everybody and embarrassed herself?
"Not much," Leah laughed nervously.
"I learned flying in my First Year, tried out for the House team, failed... and then Quidditch was cancelled." It was better to be honest.
SPOILER!!: ESME!

Hearing her name, she glanced at the boy, realizing almost immediately that she knew him somewhat. "Oh, hey.. you're Rebecca's step-son, right?" Poor kid. What was his name.. Bart? He had been to visit the locker room a couple times. She couldn't help but to laugh as he talked about her manager though. "I think that's my favorite part about summer," she joked.
The Chaser watched as a few more showed up, then gave the other pro to arrive a smile and wave in return. Ferrier, wasn't it? She had never met the woman, but she did play professional Quidditch and she did know who she played against. Oh gosh, she was loud. Esme chuckled lightly to herself as Derry's sudden voice startled her slightly, but she could admit that was a good way to get the group's attention. That might come in handy later.
Looking again as she heard her name, she smiled brightly at the girl who looked somewhat familiar (Cinna). "Hey.. are you ready to get started?" She looked eager, and Esme was about ready to get started herself. Watching a few more kids show up, she gave the Tornados keeper a smile as he said hello. "Hey, Beck!" They had met before, and she had faced him on more than one occasion, so she was familiar with him.
Allowing a few more minutes for some more to show up, Esme thought maybe they should get started. They likely knew each other from school, so they probably had ample time to talk by now, they could at least do some basic things while they waited for anyone else. "I think maybe we should get them started on some laps first then maybe we can break up into groups when everyone else is here?" she mentioned to the two other players, seeing some of the kids getting a little restless. They probably didn't want to stand around and it wasn't a big deal to get in the air first. "You guys about ready to get started?" she asked the group, raising her voice just slightly. "Why don't we warm up while we are waiting for the others to arrive? We can do some laps." And she would certainly be happy to join them. Was there anyone here without a broom?
Laps. That sounded nice. Leah could fly, that was for sure. She might have forgotten some specific skills, but she still remembered the touch of a broom in her hands when she flew. She liked the warm breeze against her face when she was in the sky.
She followed the lead of Derry the professional and tied her hair up into a loose ponytail. Setting her broom up into the correct position, she was about to kick off when she noticed somebody nearby.

Sighing quietly and clutching her broom tighter in her hand she slowly made her way over towards where the older kids/adults were. Maybe someone she kinda knew from classes would see her and explain what she was meant to be doing. That would be nice...and keep her from having to ask herself. Not that she couldn't ask, she just simply would rather not have to...
A younger girl Leah recognized from Hogwarts was here. She looked kind of nervous? But it did not seem like the anxiety Leah was feeling - anxious about her Quidditch skills - it seemed more like she did not have many friends to talk to. In a somwhat awkward posture in which her broom was still between her legs, she walked towards the girl and smiled.
"Hey," she said.
"I'm Leah. Do you want to do some laps together?" Now that was friendly.
