The area was already occupied by lots of kids her age, some of whom she recognized from Hogwarts. And oooh professional players! She wondered if there were going to be players from Holyhead Harpies - her FAVORITE team. It looked like there were none at the moment, but she hid her disappoinment and smiled at all her "teachers" as she walked by.
And then it became kind of scary. With none of her best friends nearby, the Fifth Year was surprisingly quiet. Still, she had to abide by her plan and get to know people here. Leah put on her usual grin and waved at the person closest to her (WILLA), who asked a question that she was curious about too. "Hi," she said, "are you excited?" Hmmm? The girl must be, to want to play when they have been here for less than ten minutes. Oh, look, a person talking to her. Willa tried her best to smile politely (something her mum had been trying to teach her; she didn't smile much). "Yeah, I wanna start playing." DUH. She was itching to get up in the air and HIT some stuff, but she was being patient for now. Obviously the other girl was excited too, or else she probably wouldn't be at the camp. "How long have you been playing?" Willa asked the other girl. She was curious to see how much experience these other people had because she had... very little. She could fly, yes, and she was very good at hitting things with sticks, but she had very minimal practice doing the two of them together. And chasing a ball around around the pitch just sounded boring. Quote:

"I think maybe we should get them started on some laps first then maybe we can break up into groups when everyone else is here?" she mentioned to the two other players, seeing some of the kids getting a little restless. They probably didn't want to stand around and it wasn't a big deal to get in the air first. "You guys about ready to get started?" she asked the group, raising her voice just slightly. "Why don't we warm up while we are waiting for the others to arrive? We can do some laps." And she would certainly be happy to join them. Was there anyone here without a broom? YES, WARM UPS! EEEEEE.
Willa quite possibly could have been the first one up in the air. As soon as the lady up there said "laps", Willa mounted her broom and kicked off from the ground. YES, she was READY. |
