HeadGirlMC | Treddie & Trixiver <3 | Copy Girl | Katie's Ickle Minion | I love YOU more How many more people were going to arrive at this Quidditch camp? Ruby had assumed when mummy had excitedly informed her of a camp for children her age that she’d be able to do her own thing under the supervision of adults. But now that she was here and separated into groups the little brunette was more nervous than ever. Her mother had told her to be sociable, to talk to as many children as possible because one day they were going to be her class friends. But Ruby took after her father in many ways, not the whole frowny intimidating look kind of way but the shying away from social situations sort of way. She wasn’t confident like Tabby, she couldn’t just get up and talk to the others like her blonde haired sister could. She had to get to know them first.
Ruby knew that whatever Tabitha said was right. She was fairly certain that she wouldn’t fall off the broom, she was pretty advanced with her flying skills for her age considering she’d spent a fair amount of time with Oliver at the practice pitch. “I guess.” She replied. At the compliment she offered her sister a genuine smile. “I’m not as good as you though Tabby. What position do you think you want to play?” She could always picture her sister with a bat like the red-haired woman over there. Tabby knew how to throw a punch or kick a boy in the shins, she was fairly certain she’d be able to whack a bludger with perfect accuracy. She also knew Tabitha would look after her if anything did go wrong.
The boy (Henry) agreed with Tabitha though and he got a small smile because of it. “Who is your sister?” The ten-year-old asked timidly. Maybe she was someone big and famous and Tabitha would know about her because Ruby wasn’t so obsessive about Quidditch players. She liked playing Quidditch and she supported the Falcon’s because of Uncle Oliver but she didn’t know who ALL the players in the league were.
And along came Cornelius! Ruby smiled fully, a sweet toothy grin that only her family and her really close friends did. She knew Cornelius because they flew together at the Falcon’s pitch and his daddy was the big boss man. He was the same age as her too! “Hi Cornelius” she giggled as he bumped into other children as he ran. She was still gripping onto Tabitha as he approached but at least she had relaxed a little. “This is my big sister Tabby. Only she’s not very big.. or old..” Hence why she was in this group. They HAD met hadn’t they?
Suddenly another girl (Rula) was talking to her and Ruby stared wide eyed at her. She was ABOUT to answer but Tabitha knew how it worked. She spoke for the both of them, Ruby just nodded in agreement so that she didn’t have to speak. “And everyone has been saying hello to each other” she added because that had basically been what had happened.
Speaking of introductions, were they going to be made to stand in a circle and say their names and something interesting about themselves? Ruby never had anything interesting to say, she didn’t consider herself important or fascinating in any way. She was just.. Ruby Broadmoor. She usually resorted to the ‘I have a pygmy goat called Aslan’ fact because that was the most interesting thing she could think of. “I’m Ruby” she offered to anyone who was listening as it came out her mouth quietly.
Suddenly the adults were telling them what to do and calling them ‘little kids’ despite the fact they were clearly not the youngest kids there. She frowned in response to the Enzo man whomever he was because they had NAMES and they weren’t that little. He was a beater apparently for one of the league teams. Tabitha appeared to have the same response as her. The other man Cameron was less ‘little kids’ but more enthusiastic. She raised her hand in response to his question. She WAS ready for Quidditch and she was kind of excited for it too now that she was here.
Suddenly Tabitha was pulling her away and she followed along happily.
