What was a girl to do but hurry here?
Asking the shopkeep for some help sounded good right about now. It was either she'd gone blind in the space of one night...or they ran out and she would have to hit up another Menagerie. Where had the closest one been again?
All thoughts stopped at the sound of her name and the fact the voice carrying it sounded both familiar and strange. Brows crinkled, she turned to see who might have recognized her and ended up just standing there and blinking for a couple minutes. That wasn't...no...it couldn't be..."Mikey?" Nope. No way. Michael Toussaint was the little kid that ditched her for Durmstrang without so much as a goodbye. THIS guy was almost grown--almost; tattoo, piercing, the works. For a while she didn't know what to say or do. Was hugging still a thing or had they grown that out of him over in that ice box? "Guess a goodbye would have been too much to ask for, huh?" Ohai words, nice of you to finally come out. Yep it was totally her. Michael would never forget her. His first crush. And she looked almost the same except that she had gotten even prettier and had filled out more, going from the girl he remembered to the woman that stood before him now.
And apparently he had changed in her eyes as well. He couldn't help but grin as she stared at him, almost with her mouth hanging open. He had to admit, it never got old having females staring at him. Rubbing a hand over his beard, Michael took a step forward to give her a hug but her next words stopped him short and he gave her a guilty look. "I'm sorry." And he truly was. That had been one of the things he had regretted when he had left. "My parents had ordered my transfer to Durmstrang and I didn't take it very well. Forgive me for being such a tosser?" She hadn't been the only one he hadn't said goodbye to either. So he could probably expect the same reaction when he went back to Hogwarts.
