Upon finally receiving the ID, Lex squinted down at it, finding it a little curious. Her head tilted this way then that as she gave it a look over. The explanation offered by her company was disregarded. There had been no suspicion when she first asked, it was an innocent enough question...until the lady got defensive. They could argue this all day and get nowhere so she chose to focus on something else.

"If you work in Mysteries, how come your ID doesn't say classified or list you as an Unspeakable? Isn't the work you do so guarded you aren't even allowed to talk about it?" Lex paused, flipping the card one way then the next. "Didn't even know they had Archivists down there." Which she suspected was the point of all the secrecy but that turned into such a waste the moment one carried around a card displaying exactly what they did.

"This the best you got?" If so, it was plenty odd.
Dear Merlin!!!! Was her very official Ministry ID not going to get her out of this. "Well I'm not an unspeakable." Beth was trying to explain. She worked the Department, but wasn't an unspeakable. She was the keeping of secrets!!!! Most people new about the stuff that went on down in her archives, it just wasn't all completely public knowledge. Jeez.

"I'm not sure what more I can tell you. I work here, I showed you my ID. You obviously are making huge efforts to discredit me. And that's your problem. But There is nothing left for me to tell you." Beth was very near getting up and ready to walk out......but she was also sure that there probably wouldn't be a way out. They would have made sure of that.
