So very slowly just to anger the woman Beth pulled out her ID
There was her stupid ID. "I got defensive because you had already assumed from the very begin with your suspicious eyes that I did not belong here!" Beth said thinking back to the young woman accusing her with her eyes from the very beginning. Beth wanted to start shouting that who gave this employee the right to be arresting people anyway. Especially since it was so very clear that she didn't have the AUTHORITY to arrest anyone.
Alexa had all the time in the world, in fact, she had more now that she was in here holding an interrogation. No doubt her lunch hour was almost up so this moved back into the sphere of being work. The woman could take all the time in the world to fetch her ID. Didn't bother her. She determined the speed of this little meeting so if she wanted to go slow, hey, who was Lex to say otherwise?
Upon finally receiving the ID, Lex squinted down at it, finding it a little curious. Her head tilted this way then that as she gave it a look over. The explanation offered by her company was disregarded. There had been no suspicion when she first asked, it was an innocent enough question...until the lady got defensive. They could argue this all day and get nowhere so she chose to focus on something else.
"If you work in Mysteries, how come your ID doesn't say classified or list you as an Unspeakable? Isn't the work you do so guarded you aren't even allowed to talk about it?" Lex paused, flipping the card one way then the next.
"Didn't even know they had Archivists down there." Which she suspected was the point of all the secrecy but that turned into such a waste the moment one carried around a card displaying exactly what they did.
"This the best you got?" If so, it was plenty odd.
