Jasper came as soon as he could. One of the benefits of being such a small department was the fact that you tended to know who was accounted for and who wasn't. So when the glowing silver cheetah had delivered what was ultimately the bad news of a witch claiming to work for his department, Jasper wasted no time in spilling his tea and exclaiming, 'They've got Beth!'.

Now 'they' may or may not have had Beth, but he seemed to think so. And he logged this information away as if it were as factual as the physical laws governing momentum before heading on his way to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. When he got there, the lot of employees seemed to be gathered in one area. The voices sounding from the holding cell, grew clearer as Jasper got closer, including the recognizable voice of the cheetah.

And his own archivist.

Jasper stepped into the viewing area and confirmed the ownership of the afore heard voices. Elizabeth Greene, mild mannered archivist and the cheetah patronus witch, who was also the patrol officer assigned to Mysteries that day. What was her name? Canterbury? Or was it Oxford?

...Brown?

Cambridge!

Jasper made his way further into the area and saw Elliot as the first familiar face. "Oh, Mr. Rainey." The head of Mysteries thought that if anyone besides the interrogator on the other side of the glass would know what was going on, the Department Head for Law Enforcement would be a likely candidate. "The patrol officer you sent to Mysteries. She's got my archivist. You can tell her there's no need to question her any further."

Jasper could see Beth from the other side of the glass. Yes. That was definitely her. Unless someone was using enchantments to imitate her and infiltrate the Department of Mysteries. It made him realize just how vulnerable she was. They would have to fix that as he'd rather have her safe.
