Beth's mouth dropped open. "Excuse me? A likely story?" What in the world did this Department teach their new employees, for clearly this child had to be even newer than she was. "I think you are looking for trouble when there is none."

And then there was a whole crowd of people in this tiny little room. Was it normal procedure to arrest someone for a simple spill of coffee and then have the ENTIRE department show up to talk to them about it. Beth looked around the room and counted. She was keeping her own mental notes. This was turning out to be some sort of police brutality situation. Beth wouldn't hesitate to take this all the way to the minister if it got too out of hand. And then Elizabeth noticed the girl whom she had shared a table with the other morning. Whew well at least one friendly face was amongst the crowd witnessing her embarrassment. But then one of the new comers lifted her cuffs. Make that two friendly faces. "Thank you." Beth said smiling rubbing her wrists slightly to ease some of the discomfort.

"Listen I'm not sure how this got so out of hand. But if you weren't so cuff happy this could have easily been resolved by the desserts." Beth added turning back toward her arrestor. "That and if you weren't so rude to me to begin with." There! Ha! Beth had to add that in for good measure.
