When she arrived, she immediately set to scanning the restaurant for a man around her age seated by himself, but before she could find someone who fit the bill, she was approached by the waiter. Patiently explaining the situation, Becca was led deeper into the restaurant, and she held her clutch bag (that was stylishly charmed to match the color of her dress) close to her body as she skimmed the faces of those already present...

...There was a man sitting alone. Was he...? Oh, Merlin. The waiter was leading her there. To him.

Years and years had passed, but Becca Parker was good with faces, and she knew this one - as a former people-watcher and appreciator of handsome boys at Hogwarts, she knew this Seeker. Never spoke to him personally, but the younger man... yes, she knew who he was, but she hadn't seen anything about him in quite awhile - had he not gone on to pursue a career in Quidditch? With impressive skills like him in his youth, it was a wonder that he hadn't, actually.

It took her a moment to register a name with the face, but she did just in the nick of time as they reached the table. "Jake Upstead." It might have sounded like an accusation, but a smile graced the woman's features as she subconsciously scrutinized him from head to toe. "Is that really you?" She knew it was - he still had the same general features, just a bit more manly with an extra dash of handsome - but Becca thought it best to seem uncertain for the time being. She bet he didn't recognize her one bit.

Even though he'd barely been sat there a few minutes, Jake found himself getting more anxious about this whole situation. Merlin, what if he got stood up? Imagine having to walk out of here, alone, after being sat there all night, alone, and eating, alone, after clearly waiting for someone else to show up. Jake wasn't TOO fond of the idea of looking like an idiot in public, and he tried hard to not imagine the possibility, but it was hard to shake.

He'd been watching the door for a while, observing people coming in and out, feeling a jump in his chest whenever he spotted a lone female walk in. And then he watched the waiter talk to one of these women and lead her right towards him, and there was no doubt that this was her, his blind date. LUCKY him. Wow. Okay.

She looked vaguely familiar, and though Jake couldn't place it, there were very few places in the wizarding community that he was likely to recognise people from. It made him nervous. As the woman got closer, all Jake could really process was the colour of her dress, and now he didn't know if he was more disappointed or glad that he'd not gone with his pink shirt that evening; matching was... probably bad.

Then she was THERE and Jake got up out of his seat (he'd been practicing... with Dale, ahem) and it was soon pretty evident that SHE recognised HIM. From where? Hopefully not Hogwarts, though Jake had that sinking feeling...

"It really is," he replied, smiling and hoping he didn't look as nervous as he felt. "The one and only." He thought about adding 'THE INFAMOUS' but yeah, no. Don't do that. "... Uh, I'm sorry. I know I recognise you, I just... can't place you. We were at Hogwarts together, right?" A big guess, but as he'd BLOCKED OUT a lot of his Hogwarts years, it was probably safe to assume that he'd forgotten her from there. Wait. Hold on... "... Park...er? Parker?" Her name, like?

They were still standing, but Jake was totally gonna go pull her chair out for her ANY SECOND NOW. Yep. Yeeeeeep. Wait for iiiiit.
