8. DIFFINDO
Fifth Year
Arthur It was Molly’s birthday tomorrow. After the kiss, and the flowers, he decided he wanted to do something for her. He was sure she felt the same way for him as he did her. That, and Monty had also reassured him.
He made a jumper. He had written home and his grandmother had sent him detailed written instructions, supplies, and a muggle knitting book. He was just finishing off the sleeves. He chose scarlet, for her braveness, and pink for her softness. It was a letter ‘M’ for Molly, obviously. He had hand knitted it with love. “Diffindo,” he said, pointing his wand and swiping his wand at the end of the yarn after casting off. He held it out to admire it. Well… there were a few holes where he had dropped a stitch, and there were a few knots and strings of yarn inside as he wasn’t sure how to tuck them in, but on a whole it was okay. It looked like it would fit.
He wrapped it in brown paper, with a card, and tied it with an orange ribbon, for their hair colour, and severed the end from the reel.
