31. ORCHIDEOUS
Fifth Year
Molly and Arthur
“Just do it mate! You can’t kiss a witch and not make the next move,” Frank was saying.
“But what if she turns me down?”
“Are you kidding? She kissed you back! Of course she won’t turn you down. I’m telling you, those witches, they love flowers!”
Arthur took a few deep breaths and left the common room. He knew where he would find her.
There she was. She was in an empty classroom practicing transfiguration. She didn’t need to, she was already top of Transfiguration, but they had exams soon. He crept up behind her, pointed his wand at the table and whispered “Orchideous.”
Molly jumped as a stem grew from nothing, bright pink orchids growing. She spun around in her seat to see Arthur gazing at her, his cheeks red.
“H..hi Arthur,” she said softly, standing up. They hadn’t spoken much since their kiss. She wasn’t sure why. She liked him very much.
“Molly. I have something I want to tell you. Ever since…”
“OH! I have to go,” Molly said, feeling a prickle in her eyes. “I’m sorry Arthur I just have to… have something to… See you later,” she scooped up her books and left.
