Peace One Day is a non-profit organization founded by film maker Jeremy Gilley. Peace One Day drove the initiative that led to the unanimous adoption by UN member states of an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence – 21 September, Peace Day.

The objective is to institutionalize Peace Day, making it a day that is self-sustaining, an annual day of global unity, a day of intercultural cooperation on a scale that humanity has never known. A key part of Peace One Day’s work is through education, enabling young people to learn about and take an active role in building peace in their homes, schools and communities, through the use of dedicated lesson plans and resources.
