He invited her here to have a great time, and to cheer her up after the recent events. And now she was either not coming, or wondering around by herself. This was horrible and it was all his fault. Even the mask couldn't hide how worried he was about her. He took a deep breath to keep his cool. He had a reputation to uphold. "Hmm, well, she's short and blonde. Which doesn't actually help matters, but it does eliminate at least half the student body." Because half the student body were male. "Sure, they make them specifically for candy. But how do you know they're not made with actual feathers? Hmm? And you don't know where those animals have been. There could be all sorts of gross things on that feather." He was about to eat his words. Literally. For she just waved the half eaten feather in his face. The fact that it was half eaten didn't actually bother him. It was the fact that he just told her gross things were probably on that feather. But he was a man of his words, and she did wave it in his face again. So he did just like he said and took the feather right out of her hand and ate it. Austin looked her right in the eyes as he chewed. It wasn't entirely bad as he had thought, but he still wasn't a fan of it.
A proud look entered his eyes as he finished the feather. The Ravenclaw looked around the room once more. Still no sign of her. Sigh. What was taking her so long. He took another deep breath, this one sounding of defeat, and turned to the girl he had just met. "Would you like to dance?" He had spent way too long waiting for Ophelia, and was bored out of his mind. Austin was impatient, and wanted to do something now. And dancing seemed fun. There were lots of people waltzing around, and he wanted to be a part of it. Short and blonde, short and blonde, short and...blonde. Tora scanned the crowd without much hope. Even ruling out all the girls dancing or generally attended by other guys there were plenty of girls that were blondes. One of these being Tora which, come to think of it, was probably why this kid had come up to her in the first place. Poor bloke, he seemed really concerned.
Of course while her attention was diverted looking for someone she didn't know something disappeared from her hand. "Whaaaa-" she gasped snapping her head back to her now candyless fist. "I thought you just said they were gross!" That second phrase had more of a hard edge to it than a joke: this boy was lucky he wasn't messing with the Tora of a few years ago. That Tora would have bit his head off. But she smiled to curb the exclamation. All friends here! Though she didn't like that smug face he was making.
Oh geez. Now he wanted to dance with her? Didn't he have that other lady love to dance with...right he couldn't find her. Tora eyed the dance floor warily. "All right." she said. "But we should be productive about it too. What's her name? We can shout it randomly as we dance by people and see if she responds." it would be a fun way to cover a lot of searching area. "You owe me another one of those feathers by the way," she muttered to her partner as she took his arm at the start of the next song. "Channel your inner graceful" she muttered, but this time to herself.
