"You're flattering enough," he said in that different tone - he didn't want to risk being recognised by his voice, after all, "so I'll help you out." How did it sound? Great, wasn't it? He waited for a moment to build the suspense, and said "you see, he's wearing a mask, so it's easy to recognise him."

HEHEHEHEHE. THAT was a sense of humour!
