Ethan continued to pace, his eyes darting back and forth to the shimmering thing. The event was done by the student leaders, so everything should be harmless right? But...what about the constant vigilant thing? No, no. He deserves to enjoy the night and should throw away all the bad thoughts, anchor it, and ditch it in the lake.
He was too busy figuring out the corsage and the shimmering curtain just behind him when Josie arrived. All else stopped when he saw her though. JHDSFJHDSAJFHDSLKFJLFDHLKSDFH. Ethan just deadpanned at her...and senses were turned back on the moment she spoke. “H-Hi.” Ethan waved awkwardly at Josie, and then smiled to ease his own tension. It took him a while to register everything that was happening. “You look beautiful...” Wait, where is his filter again? No, where is his brain? “I mean...you always look beautiful...” Uhm...where is this going?
Ethan closed his mouth, forcing himself to structure the next words that will come out of his mouth. “Thanks for coming out with me tonight, Jo. It means a lot to me.” SMILE. “Uh...and this is for you.” He said as he held up the huge, white flower. “I suppose...this should be tied around your wrist...” He’s got it, okay? He waited until Josie offered him his hand.
Her mind was set at ease when she had come to figure out that it was in fact Ethan she had discovered pacing back & forth in his interesting looking mask. Josette felt her cheeks warming almost immediately at the very thought of being called beautiful by none other than Ethan himself. Then to be told that she always looked beautiful just made her reddening face all the more worse. As she was about to let a very soft thank you, there were noises she heard behind her, which made the fourteen year old whip her head around to see what it was.
But wait a moment....
....By the photobooth...
Was that...
Ethan?
But, hold on...wasn't she already talking to-
O _______ O
WHO. WAS. THIS.
STRANGER.
She hadn't the slightest clue, but all she could see was that he was a holding a huge white flower in front of her for some unknown reason & that just made Josette feel very uncomfortable. One being that it was a random stranger giving her a flower & two, that she had NO idea where Ethan was. She thought this person
was Ethan, but clearly she was mistaken, because he was over there, waiting for her!
Josette cleared her throat nervously as she backed away from the unknown masked figure.
"I-I...um....I-I....I-I've got to-" Not even finishing her sentence, the fourteen year old turned
(cautiously) on her heels as she tried to get away from the random flower boy as quickly & SAFELY as possible. She couldn't help but take a quick look behind her to see the random boy still standing there looking at her.
..Was he going to take chase with her & that flower?!
If he was, there was NO way she'd be able to get away from him without falling FLAT on her face. Oh Merlin. Ethan, where have you gone to?!
