Whew. Okay. OKAY. Culloden was in a good mood. That was good. Good moods for everyone pls and thx.
The rest of the setting of for class went along more or less smoothly; at least Toby didn't knock his cauldron off the desk again. Even when everything was all set up and ready and cleaned with magic his hands just continued messing with and moving everything around just for something to DO though. At least... until class started.
Luckily, Culloden always jumped right into the potion making with little talking and all, so soon enough they were getting started. Toby wasted absolutely no time at all in getting started, and chopped up his parsley (with the knife he cleaned while setting up) in WARP SPEED. CHOPCHOPCHOPCHOPCHOP.
Water next then, and Toby grabbed a glass and scourgified it, and the inside of his cauldron again, both for good measure.
"Aguamenti," he said, pointing his wand into the glass, waiting as it filled, and then tipping it into the cauldron. Each movement was done with the kind of eagerness that made it seem like he was JUST SO READY to move onto the next step. There... also might have been a fair bit of splashing from how enthusiastically he added the water, but there was still three glasses worth of water in there so ALL GOOD HERE. Just a slightly damp school shirt and work surface, that's all. YUP.
Toby dropped the business end of a scourgified thermometer into the cauldron of water before lighting a fire below with,
"Incendio."
And only then, while awaiting further instruction, did Toby begin scrawling out his notes, in a way at least, glancing up at the thermometer from time to time and humming tunelessly to himself.
