She was already getting right into work.

She then approached.

Whoops.

A certain Department Head, and we aren't going to say who, had forgotten to send all of the new hires their orientation packets. His mind immediately vacated toward remedy and did not stop to consider the cause of such a mishap. Which was very foolish of a wizard prone to strange and unconscious action. Nonetheless, ...

"Miss Ritter! The new Charmist. The pleasure is all mine." He would've extended a hand were they not occupied with a sheeted object or objects. "How clever of you to meet us down here. I was just showing Mr. Prince...Nathan around the Department. Giving him a tour. Answering his questions and all that. You're welcome to join if you like, Miss Ritter."

Everyone and first names here! In his years of life, Jasper had learned nothing of getting too friendly too fast and so this suited him well. He took it as a sign that they were at ease the new Unspeakables were. "Alright, Beth." He said with a smile. "That's me, yes." His smile maintained as he realized this one was no mucking about. "I've come to make a deposit. This just arrived in my office." He said holding up the thin and sheeted object.

"So the Archives, as I'm sure you may have pieced together are where we store the artifacts and documentation for some of the things we're studying in the Department of Mysteries. You'll find a number of strange things and also documentation detailing any magical abilities they can be said to have. You'll also find a number of dangerous things down here as well. That is why, for your own safety, I recommend researching any artifact or objects before trying to handle them." As he spoke, the older wizard moved over to a blank wall and mounted the sheeted object securely before pulling away the sheet. A branching set of individually framed mirrors seemed to be nothing at all out of the ordinary before Mr. Mitterbill stepped before them and each manifested it's own personal eye. "Please take care of this Looking Glass for us, won't you, Beth?".

Jasper stepped away from the mirror and in due time the eyes shut and vanished.

"If you have plenty of questions, then you're on the right track. Our goal here as Unspeakables is to find answers to some of the most damning and unfathomable questions known to Wizardkind. The Archives is a great place to start for the simple fact that every question that has ever passed through the Department of Mysteries has been saved and recorded here. The bureau stores topics and information on index cards which also tell you where in the room you'll find any related lab results or objects. It works much like a library in that way. Does that make sense, everyone?" Hopefully, they were still with him. He'd said more than he'd meant to. "Just about the only thing you won't find stored away in here are prophecies. They are all, of course, stored in the Hall of Prophecies. That is because only trained orb specialists may handle the prophecies themselves."

Beth took a breath, it's okay, it's okay, she was just going to have to inform the woman the rules of HER archives...okay, again, they weren't really 'hers' per say just hers for the preservation and restoring and safe keeping. Beth was about to say something when the woman introduced herself as a member of the Department of Mysteries. Beth let the air out of her lungs like a balloon deflating! Okay, crisis averted.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Elizabeth Greene" She added toward her new co-worker.

That's when Beth noticed yet another man appear. Jeez what's with all the company!! One minuet it was peaceful morning a filing and the next, every person in the world was down her to see her! Oh well, it was nice to see people every now and then. But no SNOOPING! So again, Beth was ready to pounce like a cat on it's prey, but that's when Mr. Mitterbill seemed to know the man, must be another co-worker, Beth thought.

Turning her attention right back to Mr. Mitterbill. "Well what do we have here!" Beth exclaimed, her eyes instantly lighting up at the newest object to join her ranks. Watching her boss place the Looking glass up Beth walked over to examine it very carefully. "Any hidden qualities you've discovered about the looking glass?" There were rather rare and unusual as it was, but if it was every more dangerous it would depend on where she stored this wondrous item. "Does it appear to be overly dangerous?" Beth was smiling from ear to ear, she was in her element right here.

The younger man seemed to be looking all over the place.

Then this Beth was there to deal with the Mirror, he should introduce himself? He assumed so. "Hello, i'm Nathan Prince, i'm new here.. the Time Specialist." He might have laid the charm on a bit thick, but this was his previous job, charming people, anyone he'd met because who knew when that would seem useful and it was usually very good at it. It didn't hurt that he was handsome. "What do you do around here?" He asked and smiled. Eyeing the mirror..

"Nice to meet you, Elizabeth Greene." She said sticking her hand out for a shake. "I take care of the archives. So everything you see before is in my realm." Beth gestured toward to whole room. She was madly in love with it already! "I look after many things! Top secret things." Beth added, just a slight reminder that there would be NO snooping under her watch. You came in to look at the things you needed to research and no more! "What exactly does a Time specialist do?" She asked Nathan still while examining the Looking glass. She loved the thing! It was fascinating to her.

While Alana was walking over she noticed the other woman giving her a look and she raised an eyebrow at her. Was she doing something wrong? Either way it seemed to disappear from the lady's mind and Alana nodded towards her. "Nice to meet you too." She said.

Alana smiled at Mr. Mitterbill as he said the pleasure was all his. It made her feel pretty important and she was loving it. Mr. Prince...Nathan? She smiled at Nathan and turned back to Mr. Mitterbill. She noticed that everyone was going on a first name basis and she decided that she would join in on it as well. It'd be weird if she was the only stuck-up one here who wanted to be called by her last name. "Call me Alana and I vould lov to join, zank you." She nodded towards him and then the others. She listened to him as he explained what the archives are for and her mind filled with all of the things she could possibly be doing in here. It was exciting. Wait, a looking glass? She watched as Beth asked question after question and she could tell that Beth was definitely going to be a good caretaker of that. She'd have to remember to ask Beth later about it. But wait...did she say overly dangerous? Alana's eyes widened a bit. If it's overly dangerous, she's not going anywhere near it, so she avoided eye contact with the looking glass and decided to look at one of the walls of archives. She nodded as he asked if everyone understood what he was saying and she let him continue. Oooh, the hall of prophecies. She wondered if Nathan was an orb specialist. He seemed pretty mysterious to her and seemed like a person who would take care of...orbs.

Alana watched as Nathan approached Beth and she couldn't help but smile as he tried to put the charm on her. In reality, Alana should be putting the charm on him since she was a charmist. Heh. She shook her head at the two and decided that she wouldn't intervene especially if he was trying to impress Beth, so she put her attention back to the looking glass, no matter how overly dangerous it was. She wouldn't ruin it for them, but she couldn't help but overhear that Nathan was actually a time specialist. So not an orb specialist. Either way it seemed mysterious. And she heard that Beth took care of the archives. Made sense and that's probably why she gave her that look earlier. Alana would have to remember to also tell Beth that she wouldn't mess up her archives that way Beth wouldn't think she was suspicious or that she couldn't trust her.

"So Mr. Mitterbill...vat is your favorite part of ze department ov mysteries?" Alana turned to him. Might as well make conversation with him, right?
