He had a good point. She wanted him to break all those rules then she got rid of him. She had even questioned that herself at a team meeting but wasn't exactly satisfied with the answer. "It still doesn't seem fair. Why did she have to trade anyone at all?" That part still made no sense to her. They had a pretty great team, what was the sense in breaking that up? The beaters they got for him weren't exactly fitting in well either. She chuckled a little, not just meaning his aggression in matches, then smiled a bit as she looked at him certain she was blushing. "Well, you're competitive like me. It makes for an exciting game."
She couldn't help the grin that crossed her lips and the chuckle that came with it hearing his words. "If I was that distracting I think your standings would be a lot lower. You can hold your own against us." But she knew that as soon as the media got wind of their dating, that they'd have some sort of spin on it. On that she was sure she wouldn't like, but anything that had people butting into her business was likely to annoy her. "Yes, I think you're right," she mused aloud, smiling softly. Going to places like this would help keep people out of their business, but she thought it might just be a matter of time. It didn't matter to her that people knew, she'd just prefer people to mind their own business and not draw their own conclusions. "I would like to go other places too though," she added with a bigger smile.
As competitive as she was, Esme wasn't sure she could ever play as a beater. She had to give those players some credit. And she knew that under normal circumstances that he wouldn't have an issue aiming a bludger at someone but she had meant specifically her. If he had to hit her again, then he needed to. But at least that wouldn't come up again for a while. "Maybe you'll have to come watch me again, then," she grinned. She did like having him as her own personal fan. As long as she was playing well and winning. Hopefully there was a week or two when they didn't have games at the same time so that could happen for both of them. Her smile got wider as she heard him talk about the Cannons fans. "Really? That's gotta be great for morale. I'll have to see that for myself." Games where the fans were really into it were a lot of fan.. at least from the stands. “It’s the name of the game. People are always being traded for better deals, more money, sports in the draft. It’s just how it is. I’m at the prime of my game, so are you. Mid twenties is when we are on top. We are done being the newbies, but not yet the old has beens. It’s the perfect time to get the best deals to make the team stronger. Your team has been looking super strong with the new additions.” The Cannons weren’t that far behind them, but he knew whatever Rebecca did made them more successful. “I am competitive and you’re right it does make the game exciting. I forget I’m even playing in a match, my full focus is that bludger and the other team. So the rest of the match even the fans at times are lost. Until I hear that whistle that I’ve knocked the bludger at the fans in frustration.” That was always an awful wake up when he was in the zone not paying attention. “You are distracting. You look beautiful in those robes as always.” He grinned, though he wished he could be saying it jokingly, but he knew she looked very nice in the Catapult robes, he had thought that for some time. “We can go anywhere you like.” He was enjoying all their dates. He thought about the posabilities of dates he could take her on. There were a few things he was looking forwards to doing.
He would love to go watch her again. “I hope we have a week or two before the end of the season that I can. I love watching you play.” Maybe he could sneak over to a practice as well. It’d be nice to see the old team and watch her. Seeing the check he laid out the money and got up. “Oh it is, they are really great. I couldn’t ask for louder fans at matches. Catapults fans are good, but nothing compared to this group. Plus our mascot isn’t as scary.” He chuckled as he went over to pull out her chair. “I was thinking a movie might be nice.” They were in the muggle area, so why not stop at the theater and see what was playing.
