be curious, not judgmental ...Wow. Kid was blunt and very... well... disheartening, wasn't she? Sophie tried not to let her feelings get the best of her as Dot talked and made sure to focus on keeping the girl levitated, unsure of what kind of response Dot even wanted from her. Did she want reassurance that it wasn't true that she was weird? Did she want agreement? Soph didn't even know what to say, so she didn't say anything, but then the girl went on about a snog list and...
Sweet Merlin. What a character, eh?
Briefly, there was a part of Sophie Brown that hoped Flamsteed did have some sort of fancy-shmancy wizarding devices set up in the room so he could hear them because everything Dot was saying was kind of... well, it was all very, very sad, but also a bit outrageous and entertaining. In a very sad kind of way.
Still levitating Dot where she wanted to go, Sophie cleared her throat and spoke carefully, "I do know what you mean. No, I have many favorites. People are my favorites for different reasons, and different kind of favorites. Like... Tobes is my favorite best friend-boyfriend, and CB's my favorite girl best friend, and Culloden's my favorite grumpy professor, and Zander's my favorite funny Gryffindor, and you're my favorite spunky, fun Slytherin." She meant that, too.
