So it was like that? Jasmine had told Janelle that crazy things tended to happen at Hogwarts, but she had always felt safe. Now someone had died? Way to scare the firsties. As if the Headmistress wasn't scary enough........now Janelle would be peeking around every corner and probably suspicious of everyone and everything.

If Janelle thought she couldn't feel any worse, she was wrong. What defensive spells did she know? Very few. And as she listened to her classmates rattle off their spells, she felt very bad. Reluctantly, Janelle raised her hand to answer the question.

"I know Protego." Don't ask her how she knew it, she just did. "Diminuendo and Silencio.......because if someone doesn't know how to do nonverbal spells.......well then they can't cast on you." That was a woefully short list and they probably weren't all technically considered defensive spells, but that's what she knew so far.
