OH HANDSHAKES! THE SECOND BEST KIND OF SHAKES(the first were milkshakes, obvi). She BEAMED and shook his hand. "Dale! Dale! Dale from Level TWO!" she said, grinning and giggling away. She found that name SO FUNNY. "Well Dale from Level Two--I'm EMBER from Level FOUR. Obviously!" she let go of his hand after violently shaking it for that...entire little time. She put her hands behind her back and rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. "Visit! Oh we LOVE visitors here! We're nice people here on level FOUR! And we would NEVER EVER BAN YOU if you decided to redecorate!" she said, smiling innocently...but...
She remembered.
She remembered when Emily Browne and Gavin Stinkpants banned her from Levels One, Two, and Three. It had been so RUDE. But they were both...gone now.
HEHEHEHE. GONE. "Are you scary? I know lots of people from Two are SCARY." Because asking someone if they were scary was the way to go! Lost? Noooo. Well, not geographically at least, and that seemed to be what she was getting at with the question.
The main thing that really occurred to Dale through this interaction was that it was almost like talking to one of his brothers back when they were super little. Or even Jake, if he got his hands on sugar. She was just... something. He raised his eyebrows in amusement and looked from her face to their hands, still in that very long handshake, and then back again. "Ember. Hello Ember," Dale replied when at last his hand was free and Ember had appeared to draw breath. It was funny, usually Dale was considered the calm one in his family, but next to EMBER from Level FOUR he felt almost like he'd been Impedimenta'd and was moving in slow-mo.
Wouldn't... ban? Uhhh... That was... good to know.
Even though his apparent new friend seemed mad as a box of frogs, Dale found her rather endearing, and he smiled at her as warmly as he could. "I don't think I'm one of the scary ones. Not yet, at any rate. I'm only new, so maybe it's an acquired thing." Or maybe it was because he wasn't an Auror or Hit Wizard or something... though Jake had been on that side of things for a few years and he was about as scary as a wet sock, unless you got him riled up. "I know what you mean, though. I wouldn't to cross many of them." He glanced around the reception area again. "What about you? Are people from Level Four a scary bunch? D'you need to be scary with your work?" Oh so casually hinting towards the 'so what do you do down here' topic.
