Elliot was silent at the dinner table. Her parents spoke casually to each other, and her sisters babbled back and forth.

Elliot wouldn’t forget the woman anytime soon. She wouldn’t forget her father’s rage when he had found her spying on the ‘business’ meeting, either.

She did admire his skill.
