Stranger things had probably happened. Probably. Lots of people around the castle were all worked up over recent events, so she was laying kind of low and avoiding the drama queens. In fact, she was taking advantage of the weird times at Hogwarts to study.

Gabe might've JUMPED, dropped his wand, and squealed like a girl, just a little....because he'd been in the zone and hadn't heard Zahra approaching. Readjusting his glasses, he squinted at the Gryffindor person. He was more and more wary of this lot...Jeremiah was the only smart one, apparently.
....and he ignored the 'nerd' barb.
"What are you doing in a library? Weren't you the least bit afraid it'd blow upon entering?" Snark for snark, then. He was tired and it probably seemed more mean than he'd intended it.
He refocused on the journals.
