"I can do that," he added, figuring collecting the rock pebble things would be done quicker if they BOTH went at it.
Descending the slight slope, Zeke kicked off his own shoes and socks, but not so he could transport pebbles in them, just because he HATED shoes. So, WEEEEE... free toes! Slipping off his jacket - because he didn't mind a slight chill AT ALL - he laid it out on the floor and started tossing pebbles on it. "How many is a few?" he asked, "is that like... ten, or ten thousand?" he clarified... cause girls could be all sorts of weird and crazy where estimates were involved. Like Emily, if she said a few minutes, it was quite literally three or four minutes... but if she said a few chocolates... it could be up to ALL THE CHOCOLATE THEY HAD. See, women were cray. Amur was no exception to this rule, he was sure.
But wait, hold on... rules?
Straightening up, he listened, mirroring Amur's serious expression. No enlarging... and they had to control them.
Easy, no?
A BOULDER!
And then it hit him. "You know the wooden bridge? Over the ravine thing? Isn't the cliff side with the rocky bits technically fair game for ONE MASSIVE DRAGON?" Was that even possible? Never mind that the bridge was connected, they could... evacuate it for safety, no?
OR! "Pride rock!" he beamed, "I'm sure Professor Airey wouldn't mind... it's technically for study." And he was a boulder, AND they could take it to bed with them. But like... separately... of course. They'd need a roster of that of course, and rosters could get all sorts of messy. This, this was exactly why she had agreed to Zeke's help. For one, he was all in it like a raccoon on garbage, kicking off shoes and socks. For two, he asked how many was too few, rather than too much. For three, he thought of possibilities, rather than impossibilities.
She stuffed a few more pebbles in her sock and then tossed it up to the main rock pile before turning to her fellow Gryffindor. Amur was grinning widely and nodding, over and over and over again. "You, are brilliant, Zeke! Just BRILLIANT." So brilliant she could also hug him for it, but just...no.
Gathering up her second sock, she began stuffing more pebbles into it with earnest. "Maybe, we should do the small ones first, and then work our way up to the big ones?" Get a lot of practice in before attempting the motherlode. "And I'm sure Professor Flamsteed won't mind. He has a thing about rocks." If, Zeke hadn't noticed already. Which she was sure he had.
The rocks clunk-clunked on top of one another as she stuffed them in the stretching sock. They were definitely going to be too big for her feet now, but she didn't mind. They were creating dragons! "Gonna have to think of a way to keep the bridge in place though. Maybe a ridgeback?"
Ridge...back. Sounded like it could support a bridge.
