Not that it would make a difference to Esme what she thought, but she knew Rebecca could try to make her miserable if she was unhappy. "I.. don't know," she finally said with some hesitation. "She seems to be happy when we are winning games, like that is all she cares about. If she thinks this will interfere with that maybe she would have some issue." But who knew with her really. And she bit her lip as he mentioned the possibility of trading, she didn't want to leave her team, but she soon shrugged and gave him a small smile. "Doesn't change anything." She would date who she wanted. "Hm, maybe that's what she thought, that Muirgen was doing it for the team.." It was weird to believe something like that, but she had a real hard time thinking that Rebecca would be quiet about it otherwise.

A faint frown crossed her face as he mentioned photographers. She hated the press and the paparazzi. Always so nosy about things that were none of their business. "They'll probably be in both of our faces about us going together instead," she laughed, knowing that might be more interesting in their eyes. But she didn't care that much, she wanted to go with him either way. She gave him a smile as he squeezed her hand and she nodded. "It is different. I guess I didn't realize how much it would be." She had had fun teasing him a bit about the competition before their game against each other, but it proved to be difficult to play and not be distracted. "I've never dated another player either," she chuckled. She had almost felt that she had some sort of unspoken rule about it, but everything just seemed to fall into place with Giles that it no longer applied. Esme just shook her head and rolled her eyes a bit as he mentioned Rebecca because she agreed. It was either who she knew or what she did. Or both.

Yes, she could give him that, she knew that to often be true. Fans were sometimes fickle and they did often follow their team more than anything. "Not if they're true, die-hard fans," she grinned, her smile soon fading a bit. She didn't mean stalker fans, though she had a couple of those before and they were a little creepy. But her smile was back as bright as it was when he complemented her. "I hope I get the chance to soon then." Taking a look at their schedules was a must. She wanted to be a cheering, supportive girlfriend. Esme took another drink of her wine, then smiled and shook her head. "She's never going to be. I just hope people don't start looking at other teams because of how she is." People could only deal with unpleasant and meddling for so long.

Giles listened as Esme seemed to try to figure it out in her head and talk about the things Rebecca would say or think. “That’s all she ever cares about. You know she was happy when I was getting fouls. She liked the aggression. Even offered bonuses.” It wasn’t a fact he was all that proud of, but it was truth. She had come to him at times knowing his competitive side and knowing how he’d get too carried away. He was working on that and only two fouls this season wasn’t that bad, at least he thought. He did smile as she said it wouldn’t change anything, he knew it wouldn’t but Rebecca had her ways of making a person hate life. “It wouldn’t surprise me, I bet she’s done similar things to get where she was.” Down fall of her not being from the area couldn’t get the background scoop and he didn’t have friends in Australia to help out with that.

He couldn’t help but laugh, “Yes then you will be the one helping the Catapults out, especially if those standings stay as close between our two teams as they are right now.” He didn’t try to pay attention to standings, but he was there to win, so it was hard not to pay attention to that part of the sports section. He had a tendency to look at the sports page for standings and injuries. Kept him up to date on what his game plans should be each match. “It’s only a matter of time until the public is fully into our business to a degree.” Though he did a pretty good job staying out of the news. “Me either. I mean I always hated see you guys hurt when I was on the team, but this just made it worse, especially when it was my hand doing the bludger hit.” That was a harder than he ever thought.

He couldn’t help but smile, she was so encouraging and positive about his fans and him playing for the Cannons, truth was he liked playing for them. Though he missed some things about the Catapults. He still enjoyed hanging out with his old team. “Yes I guess some would stick with me, but that would mean that possible loss for the Catapults.” He winked and laughed jokingly. [b] “People won’t leave, they get paid to well there and the Catapults usually have a successful season if they aren’t the top every year.
