He had to catch up with the girl. He glanced back to see if the others were following before he called out "Evangline? Evangeline? Where are you?"

Hopefully his shouts didn't make the shaking and rumbling increase. Leo let his wand both light the path and the steep stairs ahead as he called back over his shoulder "Watch your steps and hold onto the railing." He didn't want anyone to trip down here at least of all himself.

When Leo finally caught up with Evangeline he engulfed her in a quick hug before he said. "Evangeline, you shouldn't run ahead like that. We don't know where this passage leads or if it holds any dangers. Are you all right?"
