The glance at his hand hadn't gone unnoticed, but Dale thought nothing of it. Having approximately half a million brothers (or at least it felt like that) taught you to be on your toes and expect the unexpected. He grasped Deacon's hand and shook it back, suddenly remembering all his dad had ever told him about the importance of having a strong handshake (and finding himself silently cursing the fact that he had to think that right at this moment).

"I'm with the Wizengamot Administration Services. Court Scribe, actually." Didn't really have the WOW factor that 'auror' or 'hitwizard' had, but Dale didn't really mind. He pushed up the sleeves of his jacket that had started to slip down. "Gobstones Administration," he repeated. "Do you... enjoy it?" Dale found himself wondering just what that job entailed, though he supposed if Deacon went into any real detail it would be just as hard to follow as if Dale started talking in complicated legalese. So he didn't ask.
